Nearly 50 years of honest Greek food
The Karahalos family opened Gyros Express in Villa Park in 1976 with a simple idea: feed people the way family would. Nearly half a century later, that's still exactly what they do.
The beginning
It started on Addison Road with a gyro spit, a family recipe, and a commitment to doing one thing well. The Karahalos family set up shop and never left — and neither did their regulars.
The food
Kronos gyros with homemade tzatziki, hearty souvlaki, crispy saganaki, warm avgolemono soup — classics made the same honest way they always have been.
The community
Families have been coming back since the '80s, and newcomers quickly become regulars. Being voted #1 in DuPage County is nice — but the neighborhood's loyalty is what really counts.
Still here, still the same
Nearly five decades in, nothing has changed on purpose — the recipes, the care, the welcome. That's not a tagline; it's just how the Karahalos family has always run things.
